B-live sparks Moscow audience
This weekend a Moscow concert hall has gathered for the fourth offbeat B-live event. Its a dance party and a stage performance at the same time.
This B-live event brings together what one would think are incompatible things. The concept was first tried out in London and Barcelona, now it entertains party-goers in 25 countries.
The idea in Moscow was to combine very different music genres in one spectacular show. This time it was opera and ballet, performed to a DJ-set of house music.
Sergey Filin, the Bolshoi Theatre ballet dancer, says it was an unusual experience which will prove useful. The event also treated the audience to some new classics of the 21st century!
t.A.T.u. introduced Russian pop music to the world. Now, the girls gave their first live Moscow performance in English. Along with their time-proven hits, t.A.T.u. also delighted fans with some new songs in their native language.
"Just working and singing and recording... and go on tour around," said Lena Katina, a singer.
Some of their songs are almost ten years old, but the audience is still singing along, making it clear that no one’s “gonna get” t.A.T.u.
And while the band once again proved their popularity, the partygoers showed that Russians do know how to have fun, on a rainy Moscow night.
